NAPLAN Spelling Rule 10: Affixes Drop an l
The term affix refers to word parts, both prefixes and suffixes, that can be added to base words to change their grammar or meaning. The words all, till and full have a double l but when joined to other words or affixes as a prefix or suffix, only one l is used.
Examples: all + most = almost, all + so = also
un + till = until.
help + full = helpful, bliss + full = blissful.
