Casting a Critical Eye

Casting a critical eye means questioning what you read - not just accepting everything it says without probing further. When you cast a critical eye you ask yourself things like:
· Who is writing and what is their background?
· Are they a credible (someone who can be trusted) source of information?
· Are they biased in their opinions?
· Are they attempting to present a balanced viewpoint?
Casting a critical eye will help you reflect on the accuracy of what you are reading and the impact it might have, or should have, on you and others.
